ROXBURY MEMORY TRAIL

The Roxbury Heritage Memory Trail project celebrates and increases knowledge of the diverse, distinct, and uniquely rich heritage of Roxbury, MA.

Led by Grove Hall NDC with Dudley Square Main Streets, Greater Grove Hall Main Streets, Museum of The National Center for Afro American Artists, and Earthos Institute, this project brings together a “constellation” of community advocates, actors, designers, artists, city and state leaders, residents, local businesses, developers, historians, humanities scholars and archivists to create this much needed cultural asset. The Trail initiative has the potential to change the way Bostonians relate to each other, promote culture, heritage and place in this wonderfully diverse neighborhood.

The Goal is to render visible the existing culture, heritage and art of Roxbury, and to cultivate new.

This will be accomplished by creating multi-dimensional cultural infrastructure—a physical memory Trail from Dudley Square to Franklin Park, a comprehensive interactive website and smart phone app, and highly visible community engagement/marketing/branding campaign.
